Greenacre Primary Campus Update

Assalaamu Alaykum WRWB,

I pray this finds you and your families in the best of states.Since our last newsletter, our Greenacre Primary Campus has witnessed several exciting initiatives and developments that continue to strengthen our students’ learning and character formation.

Year 6 Fete – “The Golden Souq of Barakah”

This year’s annual Year 6 Fete was creatively reimagined as The Golden Souq of Barakah, an initiative grounded in our Islamic values of honesty, sacrifice, and service. Beyond being a fun event, the fete served as an authentic learning experience where students developed entrepreneurial, leadership, and social-emotional skills.Funds raised contributed to both charitable causes and the Year 6 graduation celebrations. We are proud of our Year 6 cohort and have enjoyed watching them grow into responsible young Muslims ready for the next chapter of their journey.

Book Character Assembly

Our Book Character Assembly took on a deeper purpose this year. Students selected book characters that reflected one of our five Graduate Qualities chosen from our school’s broader framework of 22 qualities. This approach helped students connect reading with moral and spiritual growth, contributing to the development of Muslim consciousness and identity.Parents were invited to attend and celebrate with us, and we thank our community for ensuring that future character choices continue to align with our Graduate Qualities.

Āfiyah Week

Held at the end of Term 3, ʿĀfiyah Week was a highlight of the year, organised by our Counselling Faculty.

  • K–4 students enjoyed an interactive animal farm experience that nurtured values of raḥmah (compassion) and awe for Allah’s creation, reinforcing their role as khulafāʾ (stewards) of the Earth.

  • Years 5–6 students participated in an assembly facilitated by Ustadh Ahmed Karat, founder of the Maydaan Archery Club of Australia. Students explored themes of Islamic chivalry (futuwwah) and learned about the Sunnah of archery — an art that refines both physical and spiritual discipline. Our students were deeply engaged, and we look forward to welcoming Maydaan back in the future, in shā’ Allāh.

Student Shura Council Cemetery Visit

Our Student Shura Council members visited Rookwood Cemetery under the guidance of Sheikh Amer Qaddoura as part of their leadership formation program.Visiting the deceased, a forgotten Sunnah, reminds us of life’s true purpose and the temporality of this world. This experience was a profound opportunity for our young leaders to reflect on humility, purpose, and service in their roles as future contributors to society.

Parent Workshops

We were pleased to host the second in our series of Parent Wellbeing Workshops, facilitated by Ustadha Zena Maarbani. The session supported mothers in managing responsibilities, preventing burnout, and nurturing spiritual and emotional wellbeing. Child-minding was provided, and the workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback. We plan to continue this service in 2026, in shā’ Allāh.

Academic Rigour and Renewal (Tajdīd)

Our campus leaders and teachers have been engaging in professional learning aimed at enhancing academic standards while sustaining our efforts in tajdīd (renewal) in Islamic education.Moving forward, academic rigour will remain a key focus. We ask our parents to reinforce these same values at home — encouraging effort, striving for excellence, and maintaining high standards in learning. Together, we can nurture a generation of learners who find joy and meaning in knowledge grounded in faith.
