It has been a purposeful and growth-filled term at MFIS Hoxton Park, Alhamdulillah. We are delighted to welcome Mr Omar Khan as our new Deputy Head of Campus. With many years of experience across Islamic schools, strong leadership capability, and a heart for service, we are confident that Omar will contribute to our community with excellence and meaningful impact.

A heartfelt thank you to our parents, educators, and students for the collective effort, trust, and partnership shown throughout 2025. Hoxton Park continues to grow from strength to strength through every individual’s contribution in the pursuit of knowledge, character, and personal growth.

Inspirations From Primary School

Beginning with our youngest learners, the Kindergarten Transition to School Program fosters confidence, belonging, and readiness for new routines while building a strong home–school partnership. In parallel, the Year 6 Transition to Secondary Program prepares emerging adolescents socially, emotionally, and academically through orientation lessons, subject tasters, and wellbeing guidance.

Student voice remains central. Morning assemblies led by the Student Steering Committee brought the RESPECT Framework to life—translating Islamic values into daily actions of adab, kindness, and responsibility. Learning design followed suit: during “No Worksheet Week,” classes engaged in real-world, inquiry-rich tasks such as a Year 1 nature measurement walk, a Year 3 masjid architecture project linked to 3D geometry, a Year 5 ethical marketplace exploring halal trade and financial literacy, and a Year 6 STEM marble run testing physics and teamwork. Professional growth kept pace through the “Visit a Teacher” (VAT) peer-learning cycle, where staff observed, hosted, and reflected together. As a community, we continue to explore creative, research-informed approaches that grow the learning opportunities available to every student while nurturing both minds and hearts.

Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee (Years 3–8)

This term we had the honour of presenting awards for the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee. Nearly 200 HP students participated—our strongest year yet, Alhamdulillah—competing nationally in a test of speed and accuracy. Every participant received a certificate, with Class Champions recognised in each class. A special congratulations to Fatema Khurram (5G), who “buzzed” her way to the State Final, placing among the top 200 in the state. Masha’Allah, we are very proud of her achievement and of all our diligent spellers.

Inspirations From Secondary School

Learning routines at HP Secondary now operate through the Ihsan Innovation Movement Project, with students transitioning between specialist learning spaces while teachers remain in their classrooms. Increased movement and structured brain breaks are supporting focus, wellbeing, and cognitive stamina; meanwhile, educators are curating environments that cultivate awe, wonder, and the language of learning and success.

Introduction to Construction program

Pathways and wellbeing have been equally prominent. Select Year 9 and 10 students completed an Introduction to Construction program, building hands-on industry skills, and will soon undertake Work Experience to experience workplace expectations first-hand. Across K–10, a basketball partnership with Get The Kids Fit (GTKF) developed age-appropriate ball skills through an Islamic lens—using sport to teach teamwork, character, ethics, and respectful interaction. Wellbeing experiences included Years 7–9 excursions to The Entermission Centre, the Year 10–11 girls’ kayaking day at Bundeena, and preparations for our end-of-year whole-school excursion to Raging Waters. Service learning continued through Brothers in Need, and Al-Aqsa Day, which united our campus in prayer, reflection, and a sense of global responsibility.

Milestones & Celebrations

With final assessments complete, our 2025 HSC cohort steps into the next chapter. We commend their resilience, dedication, and pursuit of ihsan, and pray that Allah grants them barakah, clarity of purpose, and success in all future endeavours.

Stepping into leadership, our 2026 HP School

Leadership Team comprises of our Captains Nabeeha Thottasseri and Zargham Maher, and Vice-Captains May Mourad and Mustafa Fathullah. We congratulate them in their selected roles and pray that they are guided by Allah to lead with integrity, humility, courage, and service— Prophetic qualities that inspire others and honour our school’s mission.

Staff Appreciation

World Teachers’ Day (Friday 31 October) offered a moment to honour our teachers, support staff, and learning assistants as murabbīn who nurture both hearts and minds. A Lebanese-style breakfast and coffee cart set a generous tone, and our P&C’s gift packs and messages of gratitude reminded us how deeply this community values its educators.

With thanks to Allah and to our community, we look ahead to another season of learning, service, and excellence.
