Support Savannah Swim 9km for Breast Cancer Research

Our very own Savannah (4A) is swimming 9km for her friend Kim and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She has a fundraising goal of $500, and has already nearly swum the whole 9km.

If you would like to support Savannah with a donation, you can head to National Breast Cancer Foundation - savannah Pocock. Donations of $2.00 and over are tax deductible.

COGG School Christmas Trees

Our students have been very busy decorating a Christmas tree for the City of Greater Geelong Christmas in Geelong program, which will be on display in the forecourt at Johnstone Park from 22nd November to 7th January with trees from other schools in the region.

Come and admire the imagination and holiday spirit of our young artists as they showcase their festive flair in this joyful outdoor exhibition.

Barwon Health Women & Children's Primary School Artwork Initiative

To celebrate works powering ahead on the new Barwon Women’s and Children’s, the Victorian Health Building Authority and Barwon Health recently asked our grade 2 to 4s to get creative.

Students were tasked with creating artworks inspired by the theme “What makes me happy when I’m unwell”.

A big congratulations to Tate Baker whose artwork was selected to be part of a new mural located outside University Hospital Geelong’s main entrance – near where construction is taking place.

Their work sits alongside 15 other artworks from young budding artists across the Barwon South West region. There’s no doubt this feel-good mural will put smiles on the faces of hospital staff, patients and visitors when they pass by it during construction.

The $500 million Barwon Women’s and Children’s will provide more women’s (including maternity) and children’s health facilities to ensure families in Geelong and surrounding communities can continue to access the very best care, close to home.

This includes a new children’s inpatient unit, new neonatal and parent care unit, specialist clinics and more operating theatres.

The project is being delivered by the Victoria Government, in partnership with Barwon Health and Built. To find out more, visit vhba.vic.gov.au/barwon

Make sure you check out Tate's artwork if you are at the hospital.

Well done Tate, we are so proud of you! ⭐

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club runs every morning and is staffed by one of our amazing Education Support members.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and caring volunteers to help out with our school’s Breakfast Club, just one morning per week for 20 minutes. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or community member, your support can make a big difference in giving our students a positive, nourishing start to their day. With more support we can start to look at broadening the range of breakfast options for students so that they can start the day with a healthy full belly!

If you’re interested or would like more information, please contact Daryl Farnham or leave your details at the school office.

Thank you for helping us support our students!

Bark Land Donations

Bark Land is looking a bit bare! The purpose of this area is to allow students to imagine and create their own fun activities using a range of sustainable and recycled materials.

We are always looking to update items for this space so we are reaching out to you to ask for any donations that would be suitable for primary school students to build/create/play with. We are also putting the call out to local businesses so hopefully we can add some really cool items to this space.

Examples of materials could be;

-          Plastic milk crates

-          Plastic guttering

-          Cable drums

-          Giant rope

-          Shade cloth

-          Plastic barrels

-          Large tyres

-          Any other items that may be safe and suitable
