Year 9 Updates

Year 9 Exams 

Our Year 9 students have now completed their Semester 2 Exams, and we could not be more proud of the way they approached this important milestone. They followed exam protocols brilliantly, demonstrating maturity, focus, and respect for the process—skills that will stand them in excellent stead as they move into Senior School. 

Across the cohort, there were valuable lessons learned about the importance of consistent study habits and managing time effectively. One student insightfully reflected, “I left my run too late,” capturing the kind of honest self-reflection that leads to genuine growth. These moments of awareness are exactly what we hope to see at this stage of their learning journey. 

It was also encouraging to see so many students embrace effective study tools. Ms Allen’s flash cards, an enhanced version of the classic definition cards, proved especially popular. We hope students continue to use such strategies as they encounter increasingly complex content in the coming years. Many also practised other powerful techniques such as Cornell Notes, brain dumping and concept mapping, all of which support deeper understanding and recall. In addition, students were taught how to use AI to generate practice questions aligned with the Australian Curriculum and check their answers—another skill that will be invaluable in the future. 

Year 9 Christmas Drive 

As we approach the festive season, I would also like to acknowledge and thank the families who have already contributed to our Christmas Drive. Students have been asked to bring an item to help create hampers that will bring some Christmas cheer to families in need. 

If you have not yet had the chance, please ask your child what they are to bring and support them in doing so. It is a simple yet meaningful opportunity to live out our value of Community and make a positive difference together.
