Mother Nature certainly kept us on our toes at Anglesea Discovery Camp; blue skies one minute, rain and wind the next! Despite the ever-changing weather, our Year 6 students embraced every challenge and made the most of their three-day adventure along Victoria’s stunning coastline.
The camp was filled with opportunities for teamwork, courage, and personal growth. Surfing was a clear favourite. Some managed to stand tall on their boards, while others were happy to catch waves and enjoy the thrill of the ocean, wetsuits, laughter, and plenty of splashes included!
Teamwork was also front and centre in the raft-building challenge, where students designed, tied, and tested their creations on the water. Whether the rafts floated or flopped, the teamwork and good humour shone through.
The Vertical Challenge, Giant Swing and Crate Climb pushed students to new heights (literally!), requiring courage, strategy, and trust in their classmates. It was heartwarming to see cheers of encouragement echo through the camp as each student took on the climb.
There was also time to channel inner adventurers and athletes, aiming for the bullseye in archery, paddling in canoeing, and tackling twists and turns on the mountain bike trail and skate park. Each activity brought its own sense of achievement and adventure.
A special highlight was our night walk through the Anglesea Bushland Reserve, where students experienced the beauty and calm of the bush under the stars; a truly memorable moment to end a big day.
Beyond the activities, this camp was about more than just fun; it was about friendship, resilience, and celebrating a wonderful year of growth. The students returned with a pile of dirty clothes, big smiles, and plenty of stories to tell.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing parent helpers, teachers, and support staff who made this camp possible. Your time, energy, and care ensured a safe, successful, and unforgettable experience for our Year 6 students.
