On Wednesday, November 5th, classes 2B, 2C, and 2E kicked off their camp adventure, followed by 2A, 2D, and 2F on Thursday, November 6th. Excitement filled the air as students arrived at school, buzzing with anticipation and sharing what they were most looking forward to. After heartfelt hugs and waves to their families, it was time to board the bus and head to Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp.
A short ride later, we gathered in the Dining Room to meet the Camp Leader, who outlined the rules and expectations for a safe and fun experience. After a quick recess, the real adventure began! Students were split into four groups, the Koalas, Snakes, Wallabies, and Cockatoos, and set off for their first activities. From soaring on the Flying Fox to conquering the Giant Swing, navigating Orienteering courses, and tackling Low Ropes, every challenge was met with enthusiasm and courage.
Before long, lunchtime arrived, and students eagerly enjoyed tasty wraps to refuel. After completing their second activity, it was time to unpack and settle into cabins. Free time followed, with options to explore the “Risky Kids” area, shoot hoops on the basketball court, or relax and refresh in their cabins. Throughout the day, students showed incredible resilience and teamwork, stepping out of their comfort zones and cheering each other on.
As evening fell, a hearty dinner was served before we gathered around a cozy campfire. Marshmallows were roasted, stories were shared, and laughter filled the night. To finish off the day, students changed into comfy clothes for a movie night, a perfect way to wind down after an action-packed day.
The next morning, chatter filled the hallways as students prepared for their final day. After packing up and enjoying a delicious breakfast, it was time for the last round of activities. With gratitude, students thanked the camp staff for their support before boarding the bus home. Tired but happy faces waved goodbye to Mt Evelyn, and many couldn’t resist a nap on the way back (some even dozed off before leaving the campgrounds!).
The staff couldn’t be prouder of how students embraced every challenge, supported one another, and demonstrated resilience and teamwork. Their energy and enthusiasm made this camp an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

One of the most joyous events each year in the Junior School is the Junior Schools Carols Service. Each year, we transport every Junior School student and staff member into St. Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the beginning of the festive season. This is a very special occasion that we look forward to.
Throughout Term 4, the Junior School students learn about the Christmas Story in Chapel and RaVE sessions and practise the singing of some of our favourite Christmas Carols in preparation for the event. Selected Year 4 students are featured in the Carols Service as this will be their very last time visiting the Cathedral as Junior School Students. The Year 1 and 2 Choirs, Year 3 and 4 Choir, Stringlings, Junior and Suzuki String Ensembles and Orffestra will also be featured to support the music on the day.
We welcome Junior School families to join us at this special occasion, if available to attend. The details are as follows:
Event: Junior School Carols Service
Date: Tuesday 25th November
Time: 10.30-11.15am
Venue: St. Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne
*Note: Parents/guardians or family members attending this event are asked to sit along the sides or towards the rear of the Cathedral. The main pews will be reserved for students and staff.
We also ask that parents/guardians and other guests attending do not take photos or film students inside the Cathedral during the service.
