Year 12 and VCE Media: Sun Theatre, Yarraville

On Wednesday 15th October Year 12 Media showcased their productions for Units 3 and 4 at the Sun Theatre, Yarraville. VCE Media productions at year 12 may take on several forms from, videos, podcasts, webpages, traditional and online magazines as well as animations and documentaries. This year some of the top productions from the VCE students from Year 11 were also exhibited.
This year’s products encompassed a wide range of genres including a terrific documentary by Harry S, 'Muscle Cars', as well as some very amusing reality show promotions ‘Ring It Or Fling It’ by Madison D and ‘Sizzle and Spice’ by Ella T in Year 11.
Things got a bit scary with terrific horror flicks like Jonathan W's’ ‘Punished’ and Sienna L’s ‘The Shadows Embrace’. Suspense was also popular with Jack T's ‘Missed Call’, Emily X’s ‘Three Knocks’ as well as hyper-reality thrillers with ‘Looped’ by Jacob D and ‘Anemoia’ by Krysti P.
This year marked the fourth instalment of the Zombie Awards with a worthy Silver Zombie for the People’s Choice going to Sienna L’s 'The Shadows Embrace' and the Golden Zombie to Jonathan W's 'Punished', a cautionary tale of guilt and remorse after some risk-taking behaviour with substances. All the featured films were of top quality.
It was a most pleasing evening, and the students were proud to see not only their own work on the big screen but also those of their classmates. Many thanks to the parents and friends who helped with the production and all who came to the Sun Theatre on the night. This is now a most anticipated college event that has grown in status and content since its inception.
We will be back even bigger and better for next year!!
