Year 8 Art
In this playful and tactile unit, Year 8 artists transformed humble toilet paper into vibrant sculptural representations of their favourite foods. Through experimentation with form, texture, and colour, students explored how everyday materials can be elevated into expressive works of art. Their imaginative creations celebrate the intersection of pop culture, materiality, and artistic innovation.
In this expressive printmaking unit, Year 8 students explored the art of monotype printing using gel plates to create dynamic, one-of-a-kind images. By experimenting with layering, texture, and colour, they discovered how chance and control work together in the creative process. Each print reveals the beauty of spontaneity, showcasing the students’ individuality and artistic flair.
Year 9 3D Art
In this imaginative 3D art unit, Year 9 students designed and constructed their own dioramas to tell visual stories through space, scale, and composition. Using mixed media and sculptural techniques, they transformed miniature worlds into expressive artworks rich with narrative and detail.
In this vibrant and contemporary unit, Year 9 students drew inspiration from Pop Art to design and sculpt dynamic moving creations using modelling clay. Combining bold colour, playful form, and mechanical motion, they explored how art can capture energy and attitude. Their kinetic sculptures celebrate popular culture while showcasing creativity, innovation, and technical skill.
In this tactile textile unit, Year 9 students explored the art of soft sculpture through the study of insects and their unique forms. After researching their chosen creature, students applied embroidery and hand-stitching techniques to bring their designs to life in felt. Each artwork celebrates craftsmanship, texture, and imagination, transforming scientific observation into expressive textile art.
Year 10 Art
In this detailed and observational unit, Year 10 students studied the intricate scientific illustrations of Ernst Haeckel to inspire their own creative interpretations. Through guided exploration of watercolour techniques, they developed control, layering, and blending skills to capture the delicacy of natural forms.
In this contemporary textile design unit, Year 10 students explored the art of detailed embroidery to create their own unique tote bags. Through careful planning, design, and hand-stitching, they combined aesthetic choices with functional craftsmanship. Each finished piece showcases creativity, precision, and individuality—transforming a simple accessory into a wearable work of art.
In this printmaking unit, Year 10 students explored the traditional technique of etching using modern materials such as plastic acetate. They experimented with line, texture, and tone to develop original designs that reflected their individual artistic style. Each final print demonstrates their understanding of process, craftsmanship, and the expressive potential of etched imagery.
Year 11 Art Creative Practice
In Art Creative Practice, Year 11 students have explored a range of artforms, including printmaking, drawing, and painting, to develop their technical and creative skills. This body of work represents their study of watercolour painting inspired by renowned Indigenous artist Albert Namatjira. Through experimentation with colour, light, and landscape, students have reflected on Namatjira’s connection to Country while developing their own expressive interpretations of the natural environment.
Year 12 Art Creative Practice
In Year 12 Art Creative Practice, students have undertaken an independent exploration of ideas to develop a cohesive and resolved body of work. Through sustained experimentation, documentation, and reflection, they have refined their visual language and artistic intentions. These final works represent the culmination of their creative practice journey—demonstrating conceptual depth, technical skill, and a confident personal voice.

The Year 12 Visual Communication Design students have finished their final assessment their School Assessed Task after completing their final presentations for the year. Please see here images of their finals in our Senior School Arts and Design gallery and pictures of their last day of school:
The Year 11 Visual Communication Design students presented their research of different Indigenous designers and are now creating their own iconography to go onto their own wireframes of a mobile phone app for their own interactive experience. Below are some examples of their work:
The Year 10 Visual Communication Design students are creating their own tea packaging design and learning the importance of objects design. They are now working towards creating their own isometric toy design to 3D print and are drawing their own toy store as a side elevation and planometric design as part of their environments design study. Here are some final designs of their tea packaging outcome:
The Year 9 2D Art students are created wooden geometric animal sculptures. Here are some final designs and progress photos of the students work:
The Year 7 Visual Art students are painting using watercolour paint and are exploring still life with the composition of food. Firstly, they drew from observation and now they are creating their own compositions for their final paintings. Here are some of the student’s work below:
The Year 6 Visual Art students are designing their own key chain which will be printed using the 3D printer. Students practiced their three- dimensional drawing skills of perspective and isometric drawing. Here are some progress drawings of the student’s work below:
