Change Maker Projects : Making a Positive Difference 🌍💡

Our Year 5 and 6 students have been busy taking action and using their creativity, compassion and leadership skills to make a real difference through their Changemaker Projects.

Each student (or small group) has designed and led a project that aims to help others, protect the environment or raise awareness about an issue they care about. Every project connects to one of three key pathways:

  • đŸŒ± Make a Difference Market – creating and selling handmade products for charity
  • ♻ Upcycle for Impact – transforming discarded items into something new and useful
  • 💬 Campaign for Change – raising awareness and inspiring positive action

Some of the amazing projects currently underway include:

  • Homemade pet treats supporting the RSPCA
  • Handmade greeting cards and flower bouquets raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital
  • Local honey jars donating profits to MND Australia
  • Handmade clay magnets raising money for Bush Heritage Australia
  • Sustainable tote bags and beaded jewellery supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation
  • Upcycled lawn mowers and refurbished tennis racquets promoting sustainability and reducing landfill

Students have worked through the full design process, from planning and creation through to marketing and pitching their ideas, all while reflecting on how their projects contribute to a more sustainable and compassionate world.

We can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and innovation at our upcoming Changemaker Expo Day on Thursday, December 5. During the Expo, students will proudly showcase their projects, share their learning journeys and sell their handmade products, with ALL proceeds going directly to the charities they’ve personally chosen to support.

We are so proud of our young changemakers and can’t wait for the school community to see the incredible impact they’re making!
