Assistant Principal Update

During one of our school's recent assemblies, we were able to share an important moment for a member of our school community who attended the Peninsula's Koorie Kids Day Out to connect more closely with their family culture and traditions. It was great to be able to share with the broader community some of the unique things that this student was able to celebrate about their identity and history.

One of the strengths of our school spoken about was the importance and power of celebrating difference. Each student and family at MEPS brings with them their own history and experiences that contribute to the overall wealth of culture that make our school community vibrant and interesting. Students who are interested in sharing more about their unique culture are encouraged to speak further with Mr Thresher so we can include you in assembly and let others know some of the important things that make you the amazing person that you are today.

On November 25th, we will be working to celebrate and learn about culture across Mt Eliza Primary School during our "Cultural Infusion Day". It will be a great chance to learn more about being a global citizen and understand that some things are normal in one place in the world and very different in others. This exciting learning opportunity will include a live performance by a Polynesian dance group for all the students to enjoy.  We are looking forward to celebrating the many different cultures that make our world a more interesting place with the students.
