9D Visit New Tech School
Select Year 9 classes have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the new Wangaratta Tech School space to gain an insight into the new facilities offering students the opportunity to solve real world problems using new technologies and STEM skills.
The students were exposed to STEM challenges that connect to vital skills they will need in their future, no matter their career path. They were invited to use their creative thinking, curiosity and communication skills to navigate the VEX AIM robotics.
They had to program the robots to pick up items as well as control them to play a game of soccer. Lots of fun was had when they used to robots to play a game of rob the nest.
Although small, this innovative tool introduced the students to future industry technology such as AI vision and automated manufacturing. Considering it was Halloween, they also had some fun with the Zombi Robots, introducing students to how they can utilise coding and robotics with creative ingenuity.
