From the library…

It’s been another busy and exciting term as our students dive into enriching literacy experiences across all stages.

Early Stage 1 & Stage 1 students have been exploring a wonderful range of quality literary texts. A big focus has been on building vocabulary by learning new Tier 2 and Tier 3 words. This is helping deepen their understanding and enjoyment of stories while growing their language skills.

Stage 2 students are developing their visual literacy skills by examining picture books such as Suri’s WallSeagull, and Hello Lighthouse. They are learning to identify and appreciate the features that make visual storytelling so powerful and engaging.

Stage 3 students are getting creative! Using iMovie, students are creating book trailers for a children’s picture book of their choice. This fantastic project allows them to combine technology skills with their love of reading and storytelling.

Library News & Reminders

  • We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Scholastic Book Club orders. Thanks to the incredible support of our school community, we raised over $550 which will be used to purchase new and exciting books for the library. Your support is greatly appreciated!

  • Please note that borrowing will cease in Week 7 to allow enough time to collect all overdue books before the end of term. We thank everyone for helping us keep our library collection in great shape.

  • A special thank you to Rory Lloyd-Wright in Stage 2 for his generous donation to the library - your support helps us continue to provide wonderful resources for all students.

We look forward to a continued term full of learning, creativity, and reading adventures!

Happy reading!
