NOW is the Time for a Teacher/Parent Check-In! 

As we approach the festive season, now is the perfect moment for a check-in with your child(ren)’s teacher. 

This time of year brings with it report writing, assessment, and reflection. Teachers are carefully considering each student’s journey—socially, emotionally, academically, and in their overall engagement with learning. It’s a chance to celebrate growth, identify areas that may need support, and acknowledge the unique strengths each child brings to the classroom. 

A check-in conversation can help families gain insight into their child’s progress and provide an opportunity to share any changes, updates, or concerns from home. It’s also a great time to think ahead. As your child moves toward the next year level, teachers can offer guidance about transition needs, learning dispositions, and any considerations that may support a smooth and confident start to the new school year. 

So before the holiday preparations begin in earnest, take a moment for this important connection. A simple check-in can set the tone for a positive end to the year—and an even stronger beginning to the next one.
