PRAYER
Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear Families,
It was a wonderful gathering for our Twilight Sports last week. Well done to all students for their participation, team spirit and encouragement of others. Congratulations to the winning team, Arnold 320 points, followed by Ryan 290points, Loreto 270 points and Heriot 220 points.
Thank you to Mrs Sherriff for her preparation of the event schedule, and the students. Many thanks too to the parents for line marking, erecting the marquees and cooking the barbeque on the night. We are always very appreciative of the help of our families.
An important element of our Twilight Sports is the Brendan McCole race for grade six students. As some of the grades sixes were not available on the night, this event is now scheduled for Monday 10 November at 3.00pm. Parents are welcome to attend.
World Teachers’ Day
Last Friday was World Teachers’ Day. On this day we recognise the dedication, passion and hard work of our wonderful teachers who educate and inspire our students every day.
Scholastic Book Fair
Scholastic books are available for purchase in the hall from today until next Wednesday. Students will attend the Book Fair as a class throughout the day. All parents are carers are welcome to come in to browse or purchase at drop off or pick up time.
School Advisory Council Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the School Advisory Council is scheduled for Thursday 27 November at 8.15pm. All parents are welcome to attend the AGM. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information.
2026 Planning Day
On Friday 14 November the classroom teachers will be planning for 2026. Mrs Peta Fulton will teach grades P-2 and Mrs Sue Carr will teach grades 3-6 on this day. Peta and Sue have taught here in the past and know our students well. There will be no assembly on this day.
Cake Raffle
Cake raffle is part our weekly assembly and something that all students look forward to. It was recently suggested that we sell tickets on the Thursday before assembly to enable more families to participate. As such, raffle tickets will be available from the school office on Thursday 20 November and all Thursdays after that. The cost is $1.00 for five tickets.
Italian Day
We will celebrate Italian Day on Monday 1 December this year. More information will be forwarded closer to the time.
Best wishes,
Michelle Worcester
Principal
PROCEDURAL TEXT - Yr P-2
As part of our writing Unit on Procedural Text, the students in P/1/ 2 participated in a car washing activity where they washed toy cars and then wrote the procedure.
They followed the structure of a procedural text. They had a title, a list of materials and steps that followed an ordered sequence. Their language was direct and used commands and adjectives and adverbs.
They were very successful.
So if ever you need your car washed you know who to call!!!
TWILIGHT SPORTS
Another Fabulous Sports Night. Well done to all competitors, thank you to our dedicated Staff and Sports Committee for their continued support.
JUMP ROPE for HEART
This year our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart – a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program by the Heart Foundation that has been running for over 40 years.
Students will be practising skipping at school and will be taught new techniques and tricks. We encourage students to also practise at home.
Our Jump Off Skipping Showcase Day will be held on Thursday 4th December at 2.30pm. Our whole school will come together to celebrate and put on a great skipping display.
We warmly welcome our school community to come along and watch the children and support the cause.
Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like ours have raised more than $111 million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work. Jump Rope for Heart is a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.
To make fundraising easy we will ask for a gold coin donation from each student. All money raised will be donated to the Heart Foundation. Children are encouraged to wear a "Touch of Red".
Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!

Tuck Shop
Tuckshop is open every Friday, we are very fortunate to have our tuckshop run by parent volunteers for the students enjoyment. This would not be possible without our small team of committed volunteers showing up week after week.

Entertainment books are another piece to our fundraising puzzle. When you sign up you receive 12 months of discounts and offers - and our school benefits - 20% of every membership purchased goes to support our school!
