Holy Rosary School walking together
Good morning Families,
Our opening school Mass is this Friday at 9:15am. Please come along to celebrate with staff and children, and meet our new Parish Priest, Father Andrew. Please be reminded that classes will sit in the centre pews and families are asked to sit in the pews on the right and left sides of the church. Sarah will be in the church to guide you. We look forward to seeing you there.

The role of the Child Safety and Wellbeing Team is to ensure that every child at Holy Rosary is safe, supported, and able to flourish. We work to promote a culture where child safety and wellbeing are at the centre of all decisions, practices, and relationships at Holy Rosary and we are committed to upholding the dignity of every child, listening to their voices, and responding with care, professionalism, and compassion.
Through prevention, early intervention, and clear processes, we work to create an environment where children feel safe, known, and valued, and where families can be confident that their children’s wellbeing is our shared priority. Posters of the team are around the school and in addition to learning about personal safety networks children will learn that these members can support them at any time. Families are also encouraged to approach us should you wish to share a concern or a suggestion to help us promote child safety and wellbeing.
Holy Rosary is committed to ensuring that every child is safe, supported and respected. The Child Safe Standards provide a clear framework that guides schools in creating environments where children’s wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. These standards help us to be proactive, reflective and accountable in our shared responsibility to protect children from harm and to promote their voice, dignity and rights.
To strengthen our understanding and practice, we will be focusing on one Child Safe Standard each month across the year. This intentional approach allows us to deepen our knowledge and ensure that each standard is meaningfully embedded into daily school life rather than treated as a checklist.
Each month’s focus will include:
By revisiting the Child Safe Standards in this ongoing and visible way, we strengthen our culture of safety and care. This collective commitment of staff, students and families working together helps ensure that our school continues to be a safe, inclusive and nurturing place where every child can learn, grow and thrive.
Next week I will introduce you to our First Child Safe Standard.
Thank you for your patience with the gate. I am assured that it will be fixed as a priority and a soft close mechanism will also be installed. Finally!
I have been working with MACS on a maintenance project over a long time to rectify roof leaks and drainage issues. Finally, we are making progress and I can report that the project will soon go to tender. Fingers crossed we will get underway by June.

Andrew is an amazing crossing supervisor and he goes above and beyond to keep children safe every day. Please help him by ensuring you use the crossing every time you cross the road.

Hope it’s a joyful week!
