Yard Duty Before School - Student Expectations
Please remind your students about the following rules when they arrive at school in the morning.
- Year 2 and 3 students should go straight to the Synthi grass to line up.
- Students are not permitted to play large ball games (e.g. soccer/ football) on the Synthi before school or to play on the log pyramid/ other playground equipment.
This will ensure a calm and orderly environment in the morning. When on duty, please remind the children of these expectations.

ANASTASIA Excursion
Wednesday 18 February from 12pm - 3:30pm
To support the Anastasia Excursion we will swap Y4 and Y5 NCT.
Therefore on the day of the excursion:
- Year 5 will have NCT in session 1 and session 2
- Year 4 will have NCT in session 3 and session 4
147 students = 8 teachers; only 7 are included in the Excursion Package from the theatre, therefore session 4 needs to be covered. To avoid employing a CRT for one session to enable Rose to attend:
- Edwige will cover Year 4 PA session 4.

Reception Office Space Protocols (library)
As we are getting used to our front office space in the library, we have already noticed a few challenges that we need to iron out. Could all staff please note the following when using the Reception office space and communicating with Ally in her admin role:
- Contacting Ally - As a new staff member, Ally does not have many staff members' mobile numbers yet. If you are happy for Ally to have your number please text her on 0450 072 768 with your name and class information so she can add you to her contacts. If not please use your classroom phone or email to communicate with Ally but note, email should not be used for emergency communication
Photocopier - the photocopier will be moving from behind the reception desk to allow for easier access and a more functional work space for Ally. Please avoid congregating around the reception desk for a chat as admin staff are often responding to phone calls where background noise can make it difficult to hear, or parent/ carer inquiries at the desk. You are welcome to sit and chat at the long table or the green seating area (please do!) but try to keep the reception desk clear.
- Orderly spaces - as the Library office is now the first point of contact for visitors, parents and carers in our school it is important that we create a positive and professional first impression. Please be mindful and do not leave personal belongings, coffee/ tea cups, printing etc when you leave the space, particularly around the green seating area and front desk.
The temporary toilets
You may have heard that we have been having trouble with the new toilets.
- The doors are heavy and the locks difficult to open and close.
- Also, our cleaners' toilet rolls don't fit the toilet holders.
- Two of the cubicles are too risky to continue using.
We have no been able to rectify the difficulties but the company has promised to do so next Wednesday.
If you are on duty, it is critical that you check to ensure that students do not get trapped inside. Please open the doors at the end of your duty to ensure that no one is left trapped in the heat.
