Preparing for 2026
Parent Feedback and Consultation
As a school we value your feedback and are keen to hear from as many parents and carers as possible. We know it is an incredibly busy time of year so we will continue to share our end of year survey with the community over the coming weeks. You can access this survey here or through your School Bytes notifications.

Holding Classes for 2026
As with this year, our student enrolment numbers for 2026 are unstable. As a result, we will be going into holding classes as students return at the start of the year. This will mean your child will start the year in their 2025 class and possibly their 2025 teacher. Please be reassured that 2026 learning will commence from day one. We will remain in holding classes for as short a time as possible.
Extended Travel over the Christmas Break
If you and your family are travelling overseas over the Christmas break and will not be back in time for day 1 of the school year (2 February 2026), please email the office so that we can plan for your child's late return.
Genius Hour at Roselea Public School
Over the past three weeks, every Monday afternoon has been buzzing with excitement as our students participated in Genius Hour. This innovative program allowed students to explore a wide range of activities alongside their peers, developing skills across intellectual, physical, creative, and social-emotional domains.
From golf and jump rope for heart to strategic board games, robotics, and even tiny home designs, the variety of activities was impressive. Students also engaged with Austin’s Butterfly project, created bee gardens, designed storybooks and graphics, and explored TED Talks, to name just a few.
Student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with everyone expressing that they learned something new. Most are eager to take part again next year, hoping for even more choice in their activities. This trial has provided valuable insights into how Genius Hour can be successfully expanded next year.
We’re excited to involve our families further in this initiative as part of our HPGE (High Potential and Gifted Education) project, where we celebrate and nurture the diverse talents of all our students here at Roselea Public School.
