Child Safeguarding

St. Mary’s Echuca is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for every learner. The Victorian Child Safe Standards guide schools to promote and protect the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. These standards focus on creating a culture where children feel safe, are listened to and are respected, and where adults understand their shared responsibility to keep children safe.

All staff receive regular training to ensure they understand their obligations and know how to identify and respond to any concerns. We also work closely with families and the wider community to strengthen child safety practices across our school.

For 2026, our trained Child Safeguarding Team is Jasmine Ryan, Bec Lloyd, Liz Chapman, Nathan Walsh, Tegan Reid, and Renee Berryman. These staff members are available to support learners and families and to respond to any child safety concerns. If you have questions or would like more information about our child safety policies and procedures, please contact the school.
