Ryan's Rambling

Dear Families, 

I am tremendously excited to be welcoming you all to the 2026 school year. Our school year has begun in a calm, wonderful and happy fashion, with our amazing students returning to learning routines swiftly and confidently. Thank you to our wonderful parents for preparing your children for another year of great learning. We look forward to another year of strong partnership with you all. 

I would like to extend a particular welcome to our Foundation students and all families who are joining Dana Street for the first time. Our 26 new Foundation Students have begun their primary education journey in such an admirable fashion. 

I would like to welcome Miss Maddi to our teaching team this year. Over the school holidays, we enrolled additional Foundation students, which allowed us the opportunity to employ Maddi as a graduate teacher. Maddi has been part of our Education Support team for many years and has recently completed her primary teaching degree.  Maddi will bring an admirable level of passion and dedication to her role.  Please congratulate her if you see her in the yard. We are very proud of Maddi. 

Just a reminder to everyone that Japanese will not be running at our school for the first part of the year, due to Bec Sensei taking maternity leave.  We will be running two hours of PE each week until Bec Sensei returns. 

Today at assembly, our 2026 School Captains hosted their first assembly for the year. On the coming weeks, our school will host a leadership investiture, where our elected School and House Captains will receive their badges and each deliver a speech on their hopes and dreams for our school for 2026.

House Captains will be elected in the coming weeks. 

I am confident and positive that 2026 will continue to build on our successes 2025, and our school will continue to remain as a beacon of positivity and educational excellence for all students. As always, my door is always open and I look forward to a fantastic year ahead.
