Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop – Friday 8th August

Friday is the feast day of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. This is an important day as Saint Mary MacKillop is Australia’s first canonised saint. She founded the Sisters of St Joseph and was a tireless advocate for education for all. We will recognise this day through prayer in our classrooms.

Let us show love in our acts.

You call us to be pilgrims of hope.

Enable us to walk in the footsteps

of Mary MacKillop whose life bears

witness to an unshakeable trust in

your provident care.

May Mary’s belief in the power of

hope inspire us to trust ever more

of transformation in our lives and

in our world.
