We hope all students and their families had a restful and enjoyable holiday break. It’s been wonderful to see the smiling faces of our students as they return, ready for another term of learning and fun.

On Tuesday 29th July, the Foundation students celebrated their 100th day of school. The theme for the day was 100 Days Brighter and it was great to see lots of colourful clothing worn to mark this special occasion. Some of the highlights included completing Maths and Writing tasks based on the number 100, making crowns and receiving a special certificate to mark the day. We are proud of how far students have come in their first 100 days of school and look forward to the continued growth and learning ahead.
On Friday 25th July, the Fire Brigade returned to school for their second visit. We were excited to learn more about the equipment firefighters use and to see how the fire trucks work. The highlight was getting a turn at using the fire hose, even the teachers joined in the fun!
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held next Monday and Tuesday. These interviews are a great opportunity to check in and chat about your child’s learning and progress. Each meeting is 10 minutes long so that we can stay on time for all families. Please ensure you have booked your interview on Compass and they will be held in your child’s classroom.
As a part of our exploration of toys in our Inquiry Unit, we are very excited to have our Lego Incursion on Wednesday 6th August with Ryan Evans from Lego Masters. Students get to engage in a series of build activities that are revealed in a similar way to the way they are on the show. Some challenges have twists and every challenge has those all important time calls! It’s truly amazing to see how much the students thrive with the little bit of extra theatre and drama! You can find this payment information under the Events tab in Compass.
We are looking forward to celebrating Book Week in Week 5. Our dress-up day will be Monday 18th August, and we can’t wait to see everyone dressed as their favourite book character. There will be a special assembly and parade on the day to show off our costumes. During the week, we’ll also enjoy a visit from an author – a wonderful chance to learn more about stories and writing!
As part of our Inquiry unit, we will be holding a Wheels Parade on Wednesday 27th August (Week 6). The parade will begin at 9:10am. Students are encouraged to bring along a toy or item that has wheels — such as a bike, scooter, pram or remote control car. Parents are invited to stay and watch the fun. For safety, students riding bikes, scooters or wearing roller blades must wear a helmet. We kindly ask if parents who are attending are able take home any large items (especially bikes) straight after the parade, as we have limited space for storage in the classroom.
We are asking if possible for students to speak with a grandparent to find out about the toys they played with when they were young. This will help us compare toys from the past with toys children play with today.
Here are some questions your child might like to ask:
Students are reminded to bring their blue satchel to school every day and take home readers are changed Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child reads the same book two times to an adult and this is recorded on the sheet inside their reader cover. If there is no record of the reading, the same book will be sent home again. Thank you for your continued support in developing your child’s reading skills.
