Welcome to Semester 2, and the beginning of Term 3. We trust that you all had a great break, and have returned for the start of the second half of the year. We have many exciting things planned for this term, and we cannot wait to share them with you all.
We are so excited for the upcoming Vermont Primary School production of 'Pirates of the Curry Bean'. This years production will be held over 2 fantastic nights at Crossways Theatre in Burwood East, on September 16 and 17. Tickets will be available in the coming weeks, and we will have more information for families of those students involved in the performance coming soon. I encourage you all to come along and watch, even if your children are not involved.
We are holding a Christmas Craft & Food Market on Wednesday December 4 to coincide with our annual Christmas Carols event. We thought this was a perfect way to round out the term, and with a large audience in attendance for Carols, why not extend the celebrations and make this a spectacular community event.
If you or someone you know runs market stalls or has a food truck, please join us as an exhibitor at our first ever Christmas Market. Use the QR code in the poster below to register your interest!
Congratulations to all the Year 6 students who attended Ski Camp last week. It was an absolute privilige to share this special experience with a great group of children who conducted themselves with maturity and a positive attitude. Several members of the public approached the teachers to congratulate our students on their manners, behaviour and encouragement of each other. Learning a new skill, especially one like skiing is a test of patience, persistance and character and each of the students who were at Mount Buller showed that they were able to do that. A huge thank you to the teachers who attended the camp, and assisted students to ensure they had an amazing time.
Just a reminder to families that Wednesday August 13 is a Curriculum Day for teachers, and as such, is a student free day. OSHC will be available for those who need to use this service. We also have a Professional Practice Day for teachers on Friday September 19, which is the last day of Term 3. Students will not be required at school on this day, making Thursday September 18 the last day of Term 3. This will be a 3:30pm finish time.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held next Monday 4th August and Tuesday 5th August. These interviews are a great opportunity to check in and chat about your child’s learning and progress. Please ensure that you arrive on time for each meeting, and if you cannot attend your scheduled time, contact your teacher so that they are aware. Each meeting is 10 minutes long so that we can stay on time for all families.
The Victorian Government has delivered the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025. Access to the SSB Parent Portal closed on 30 June 2025.
Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, have become a credit to use on School Activities either this year or in future years.
We are pleased to advise that all remaining funds have now been transferred to us from the SSB portal. When wishing to use these funds for activities (such as excursions, camps and sporting events), please contact the office team via email: vermont.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Unfortunately the SSB balance will not show on the Compass Parent app.
