Middle School Mid Year Awards Assembly

Mid Year Awards
This past week, we held our Semester 1 Middle Years Awards Assemblies. Our Year 9s celebrated during their LEAD class on Monday, and our Year 7 & 8 students celebrated on Tuesday during their Launch class. A big congratulations to our award winners who showed continued dedication and application to your learning, in both academic achievement and your learning behaviours. A list of all of our awards winners, and photos are below.
During both assemblies, I spoke about the purpose of our Middle School. Middle School provides the foundation for success as students’ progress through each year, and into our Senior School. We aim to provide necessary learning and life skills, develop content knowledge, and an opportunity for students to understand your own interests in different subject areas. Each year, each semester, each term, each subject, each week, day and lessons are small stepping stones for students to achieve their ultimate goals by the end of your schooling, whatever that might look like. These steps and progressions sometimes take big leaps, sideways steps, or even backwards steps towards our goals, and every journey is unique, with no right or wrong path. All we ask, is that our students continue to take those steps forward, towards their goal.
From experience, and reflections from our senior students, those that achieve success in their schooling develop healthy learning habits and behaviours right from the start, so Senior School and VCE don’t seem like a massive jump.
We will continue to work with our Middle School students to provide them with healthy learning habits and behaviours that will support them to achieve their schooling goals.
