Inquiry Centre

Highlight
Selamat Siang,
Welcome back to school! We hope you had a restful break where you were able to recharge and enjoy some much needed family time.
Our Guided Inquiry Unit this term is 'Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds' where students will explore the following topics:
Water Safety Safety signs - pool |
Water Safety Being safe at the beach - sunsmart |
Healthy Body Exercise, food, personal hygiene and rest |
Healthy Mind Mindfulness, community, hobbies and inner coach |
Healthy World Composting, recycling and the environment |
This connects with our Water Safety Program at Aqua Nation which commenced this week! The 1/2's were very excited to get into the water and have settled into their swimming groups well. A highlight is defintely the bus ride to swimming, watching all the cars go by.
The library is open for borrowing this term! Library sessions will commence in Week 3, after our swimming program. Students are encourged to bring a library bag on their classes library day:
1/2E - Friday
1/2G - Tuesday
1/2S -
1/2CS -
1/2K -
In Literacy, we have been learning aboout the /ch/ sound (ch, tch) as in watch, itchy, witch, church, chocolate and beach, as well as reviewing the /k/ sound (k, c, ck) knowing when to use each phonogram. We have been reading non-fiction texts to support our understanding of Water Safety and writing texts to encourage others to be safe around water. Ask your child some ways they can keep safe around water. What signs do we see at Aquadic centres? What do these signs mean? What do they tell us to do?
Have a fabulous weekend!

Reminders
- Our Water Safety Program has begun, students get extra hungry, please pack some more food in your child's lunchbox!
- Our library is open! Please ensure your child has their library book on their classes day!
- Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
- We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
