Halo semuanya,
(Hello everyone)
On Tuesday, students began their Water Safety Program. It’s been wonderful to see them approach each session with a positive mindset and strong determination to develop their swimming skills and strokes. As always, students are showing responsibility and teamwork both in the pool and around the change rooms. The swim teachers have shared how much they enjoy working with our students, which is a lovely reflection of the respect and effort our learners bring to the program.
In Maths, we’ve been focusing on time, specifically how to calculate elapsed time, as well as finding start and finish times. Students have also been learning to convert between hours, minutes and seconds. To support this learning, we've been using number lines and MAB blocks (base ten materials) to help visualise and solve problems in different ways.
In English, we’ve started reading Uncle Xbox by Jared Thomas. Students have been diving into the text and exploring key vocabulary to help build and strengthen their own word banks. It’s been great to see thoughtful discussion and growing confidence as they connect with the story and language.
Salam hangat,
(warm regards)
Kathy, Ros, Julia, Mandy, and Suzie.
