Prep to Grade 2:

100 Days of Prep and Milo's Birthday

What a fantastic day we had celebrating 100 days of school! The Preps were full of excitement as they made their very own 100-day crowns and had fun counting all the way to 100.

We were lucky to have our Year 1 and Year 5/6 buddies visit and lend a helping hand as the Preps baked delicious cupcakes to mark the occasion.

The fun didn’t stop there. We had a big party to celebrate all the letters we've learned this year with our friend Milo the Monkey.

To top off a wonderful day, some of our Preps even had the opportunity to speak at assembly, sharing the excitement of our 100th day with the whole school.

Heartfelt thanks must be extended to our wonderful Prep team. Many thanks to all the parents for bringing food and creating brilliant costumes. Mrs S is to be commended for the outstanding celebration display. Mrs Thornton, Mrs R and Mrs V were instrumental in making the day a success and we are all grateful.

A day full of learning, laughter, and celebration. Here's to many more milestones ahead!

Literacy

Prep

In Literacy, our Preps have been learning how to create simple information reports. They have explored how to write facts about a topic and include diagrams to help share what they know. It's been exciting to see them confidently share their knowledge about farm animals.

The Little Learners Love Literacy journey has continued with the Preps learning that 2 letters can have one sound  (ss, ff and zz).

1/2

In Writing, our 1/2s have been been learning how to write information reports using clear sentence structure, paragraphing and subheadings.

So far this term, our grade 1s have have been focussing on the /ow/, /oi/, and /oo/ sounds while our 2s have been learning the -ous suffix, along with alternative /or/ and /er/ spellings.

Numeracy

Prep

In Maths, our Preps have been learning about sharing as division. They explored how to divide objects into equal groups, helping them understand the idea of everyone getting the same amount.

The grade 1/2s have also been enjoying our division and multiplication unit. Students have been sharing out equally, creating arrays, and using skip-counting to solve problems.
