Assistant Principals' Report
Rae Gittos & Matt Kirkright
Yesterday, Matt attended the Whittlesea School Network’s Community of Practice (CoP), joining fellow assistant principals to collaborate and share insights. The day began at a local school where assistant principals presented their data and reflected on how their schools are currently implementing the Victorian Curriculum English 2.0 alongside VTLM 2.0. This provided a valuable platform to discuss successes, challenges, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
The afternoon session moved to the Mantra in Epping for the Network Meeting. Here, leaders brought together their findings from the morning session and worked collaboratively to plan the next steps across the network.
The Department also provided an important update on the revised Suspensions and Expulsions guidelines, ensuring all leaders are informed and aligned with current policy.
The day was a great example of how collaboration strengthens our shared practice and supports consistent, high-quality education across our schools.
Book Week is NEXT WEEK. Our much-anticipated Book Week Parade will commence at 9:00 am on Thursday, 21st August, on the basketball court.
The Scholastic Book Fair will also be open in the senior library throughout the week. Check out the flyer below for opening times before and after school. We hope to see you there!
On Thursday, 4th September, we will host our annual Father's/Special Persons Day stall. Students will have an opportunity to visit their stall with their class throughout the day to choose a gift. We have a range of gifts for Dad as well as a selection of gifts for a special person, should your child wish to select one of these instead. This event is now on Compass. If you would like to purchase more than one gift, don't hesitate to get in touch with the office before completing the event on Compass. If your child is absent on Thursday, there will be an opportunity to choose a gift on Friday.
On the morning of Friday, 5th September, we invite all of our Dads/Special persons to a Cheese Toastie Breakfast.
Just a reminder, our Brick Paver Fundraiser is still open. For $50, your family can become part of our school's history. If you, a family member or a local business would like to order a paver, you can do so using the QR code below or by following this LINK. We hope you will support our school to fill the external gym wall with pavers; it is going to look amazing.
