Year 7 Zoo Excursion
Creating Futures Together
Year 7 students had a great day out at the Melbourne Zoo, where they took part in fun workshops all about animal classification and adaptations, which they have been learning about in Science. Students were able to examine animal skulls and use this to explain how and what the animal eats and how it lives.
The weather was perfect, and everyone enjoyed walking around the zoo, spotting animals and soaking up the sunshine.
As part of their Mandarin and French classes, students also had to find clues around the zoo using words and phrases in both languages, which added an extra challenge to the day. They worked in small groups to complete tasks, solve language puzzles, and match animal names with signs written in Mandarin and French.
There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and curiosity as students explored different animal enclosures and shared interesting facts with each other. It was a fun and hands-on way to bring their learning to life, and a great opportunity to connect with classmates outside the classroom.
