Around the classroom with 5H

This term, 5H has been learning about area, focusing on hectares and square kilometres as units of measurement. We have also been practising estimation and rounding to check the reasonableness of our answers. 

To put this into practice, students used Google Maps to measure local spaces and identify areas close to a hectare in size. This hands-on activity helped them visualise just how large a hectare really is.
