Zone Athletics Carnival Results

Last Monday, 41 students proudly represented Meadowbank Public School at the Ryde Zone Athletics Carnival. Our students gave their best effort, showcasing their skills and determination on a day that turned out to be rather rainy and cold. It was wonderful to see our students cheering each other on throughout the day, embodying the true spirit of sportsmanship.

There were many notable achievements from our students. Congratulations to:

· Leo T who participated in many events in his 8-10 year boys Multi-Class category. These events included the 100m, 200m, 800m ,Long Jump, Discus and Shot Put.

· Lelea B who jumped amazingly to finish 2nd in the 11 year girls Long Jump and just missed out on 1st place by 4cm.

· Aman M who finished 2nd in the 13 year boys 100m.

· Scarlett G who showed her versatility as an athlete by finishing 3rd in the senior girls High Jump and 10th in the 12 year girls 200m.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing parent helpers Jingjing and Jemma, who took on the roles of team managers and general organisers. Their hard work and support was invaluable, and we couldn’t have done it without them!

Leo T, Lelea B, Vanessa O and Aman M performed so well they will now represent the Ryde Zone at the Sydney North Carnival. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish them the best of luck!

Premier's Spelling Bee Regional Finals

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our finalists, Katavu from 6H and Carter from 4L, in the Premier’s Spelling Bee. Battling against 30 other schools from across Sydney, both students demonstrated exceptional spelling skills and determination.

Carter showed remarkable resilience, surviving a challenging round where every remaining contestant misspelled their word. This perseverance led Carter to become one of the last two spellers standing, ultimately winning the competition. Carter will now proudly represent our school at the State Final.

Katavu also delivered an impressive performance, advancing to Round 7 and securing a place among the last eight students in a highly competitive field. Both Katavu and Carter have made us incredibly proud with their dedication and success.

Congratulations to both students on their fantastic achievements!

On 17 August, Rohan from 3S participated in the 5th Annual Rising Voices Public Speaking Championship and achieved 2nd Place in the Stage 2 (Years 3-4) division.

This year’s competition featured over 250 participants from both national and international schools. Of these, 75 advanced to the semi-finals and 34 to the finals, spanning five divisions from Stage 1 (Years 1–2) to Stage 5 (Years 9–10).

Well done to Rohan for this incredible achievement.
