Literacy- Book Week

Book Week 2025

This year’s Book Week theme is “Book an Adventure.”

We will be celebrating with our traditional Book Week Celebration Day on Monday, September 1st - a fantastic opportunity for students to share their love of reading.

The day will begin with a parade featuring students and teachers dressed as their favourite book characters or in costumes inspired by non-fiction themes. I’d like to thank our parents and carers in advance for the effort and enthusiasm you put into the students’ costumes. Your creativity never fails to amaze me.

After the parade, students will take part in fun, book-inspired activities in multi-age groups, celebrating literature through reading, creativity, and art.

Hanna Rose (Oscar’s mum, Year 6) has generously offered her time and expertise to create a whole-school art piece that incorporates the theme and various book characters with the students on the day. We are very excited about this activity.

Also on Monday, 1st September, we will have a book swap table for students to exchange one book for another. For participation, students bring a book in good condition and hand it to their classroom teacher, who will label it with a sticky note. On the day, these will be placed on the table for exchanging.
