Living Our Faith

Celebrating Mary & Growing as Leaders

Feast of the Assumption: Gathering in Community

This morning, our school community gathered at the Church to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, a treasured day in our Church calendar that calls us to remember Mary’s unwavering faith, trust, and love. Students contributed to the liturgy through the Prayers of the Faithful, the Offertory, and leading songs with joyful actions, a highlight our parishioners always enjoy. I thank our teachers for preparing and guiding the students so beautifully.

Throughout the week, classroom reflections invited students to consider how Mary’s courage connects to our Catholic Social Teaching focus on human dignity and community. This celebration not only deepened our connection with the parish but also gave students a meaningful way to live out their faith.

Growing Together in Faith: Staff Formation Focus

In our recent staff meeting, we reflected on how we, as teachers, continue to grow as faith leaders. We began by sharing how prayer is currently being led in classrooms, exchanging ideas and reflecting on ways we can continue to maintain and strengthen our Catholic identity. We then explored strategies to make prayer more meaningful, weave Scripture naturally into daily lessons, and bring Catholic Social Teaching to life.

As part of our planning for the term, we focused on the Morality and Justice units, highlighting the importance of student voice in prayer and including opportunities for reflection at the end of each unit. We hope to share these with you towards the end of the term through our End of Term Liturgies.
