From the Principal

It’s done! Our Junior School and admin block, one of the first buildings constructed on the Mount Waverley site is no more.
In its place, we are preparing the ground (both literally and metaphorically) for a vibrant new learning space. This next chapter will see the development of a magnificent Junior School facility, complete with modern classrooms, a dedicated technology centre, music rooms, a library and two Senior School breakout spaces. We hope to have everything completed by the end of 2026 with classes celebrating our Centenary in impressive modern facilities.
To coincide with our building development, we have undertaken the development of a Landscaping Master Plan that will ensure learning experiences are not confined to the classroom.
While the demolition crew has been hard at work, so too have our students. Their energy and enthusiasm have been unmistakable. In just the past fortnight, Year 11 students have journeyed to Uluru, Year 9s have taken on the slopes at Mt Buller and Year 10 embarked on work experience placements spanning everything from medical clinics, to parliamentary offices to architect offices. (More details on these programs are included later in this Bulletin.)
Early morning cross country training has begun with impressive turnouts of 200+ students on the assigned mornings. Rehearsals continue for our orchestras and choirs, our DAV debating teams continue to compete deep into the season and our Chess teams are once again vying for State representation. Huntingtower is alive with opportunity, and it is our students who bring it to life with their commitment and participation.
I look forward to seeing many of you at one of our upcoming events, whether it’s the Senior School production Freaky Friday, the Junior School’s performance of Finding Nemo or our cherished Ball Games carnival. There is much to look forward to at Huntingtower and I warmly invite you to be part of the experience.
Mrs Shan Christensen
