What we are learning in Term 3 Music
Foundation in Term 3 we are learning about:
- Vocal exploration of high and low pitch (sound).
- Exploring the difference between running notes and walking notes in music.
- Exploring graphic notation (type of music writing) and creating class arrangements with this concept.
Year 1/2 in Term 3 we are learning about:
- Exploring sound and silence in music.
- Learning different music rhythm symbols (ta, ti-ti, za) to clap, say and write to notate (write) songs.
- Continuing our investigation into the difference between beat and rhythm.
Year 3/4 in Term 3 we are learning about:
- Exploring the difference between high pitch (sound) and low pitch.
- Where different pitches sit on the music stave.
- Discovery ascending, descending and repeated melodies in music and how to spot these in a traditional notated song.
- Applying patterns to an instrument.
- Continuing our investigation into the difference between beat and rhythm.
Year 5/6 in Term 3 we are learning about:
- Exploring the difference between high pitch (sound) and low pitch.
- Where different pitches sit on the music stave.
- Learning the note names of the treble clef and applying them to an instrument.
- Continuing our investigation into the difference between beat and rhythm.
