Message from our
Campus Principal
As we near the end of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the focus, effort, and commitment demonstrated by our senior students across VCE, VCE VM, and VPC programs.
For our VCE students, this is a critical time. With practice exams, revision lectures, and final assessments fast approaching, it is essential to make the most of every opportunity available—whether that’s Study Hall during the day, After-School Study Club, or working closely with your teachers for feedback and support. We know this period can be intense, but it also offers the chance to consolidate your learning and build confidence ahead of the final exams. Remember to maintain a healthy balance—rest, exercise, and sleep are just as important as study.
Our VCE VM have been highly engaged in applied learning, personal development projects, and work placements. The Year 12 students are getting ready for the Melbourne City Project Day, and will soon be preparing to complete their Work Related Skills assessments by participating in mock interviews with local employers. At the end of October they will then engage in Exit Interviews, which will prepare the Year 12 VCE VM students for their next steps beyond school.
Our VPC students have continued to engage meaningfully in their learning throughout the term, applying their skills in numeracy, literacy, personal development, and work-related learning to build practical capabilities for life beyond school. This applied approach fosters not only academic growth but also encourages students to become responsible, active members of their communities.
It has also been inspiring to see students take part in recent enrichment activities across the campus such as Indigenous Literacy Day, the Pat Cronin Foundation presentation, and the Chris Joustra resilience session. These powerful experiences highlight the value of learning beyond the classroom and the importance of community connection, empathy, and resilience. Detailed reports of these events are included in other sections of this newsletter.
I also encourage all families to participate in our Parent–Teacher–Student Conversations, which will take place at the end of this term:
🔹 Thursday 18 September: 3:30pm – 7:00pm
🔹 Friday 19 September: 10:00am – 1:00pm
These conversations are an important opportunity to discuss progress, celebrate successes, and identify next steps as students head into the final term. Students are encouraged to attend alongside their parents, as active participants in the conversation.
Lastly, I encourage all graduating Year 12 students and families to save the date for our upcoming Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 19 November. We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone that recognises the conclusion of your secondary education.
