Unit of Study: Rising Dragon: The Story of Vietnam

 

Brief Description: Rising Dragon: The Story of Vietnam will investigate the intense history of Vietnam from the 1700’s to present day. Students will examine the impact that contact with other countries has had on Vietnamese culture, political climate and involvement in domestic and international conflicts.

At the conclusion of this unit of study students will have:

  • the key social, cultural, economic and political features of Vietnamese society from the 18th to the 20th century (H10K24)

  • the causes and consequences of contact with other countries and/or colonisation and liberation of Vietnamese society (H10K25)
