Raf E - Prep B
Raf has worked hard this term to develop his reading and writing skills. He persists to solve unknown words and shows a love of reading by reading with expression. Raf puts effort in and tries his best to write all of his letters on the baseline, use spaces between each word and write the sounds that he hears. He does all of this independently! Recently, Raf wrote and illustrated a creative sentence about eating a mop! Well done Raf and keep up the amazing work. We are so lucky to have you in Prep B.
Ethan W - 1C
Ethan is commended for his outstanding effort and progress in English, in both reading and writing. In reading, he is beginning to recognise more high frequency words and confidently uses his letter-sound knowledge to decode unfamiliar words, achieving his reading goal. In writing, Ethan has developed a growing interest and enthusiasm and is happily putting on his ‘author’s hat,’ showing increasing confidence and a willingness to write independently. Well done, Ethan!
Matilda F - 2B
For planning and writing a wonderful Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspired narrative. She brought her setting to life by using the five senses in her description, helping the reader to clearly imagine the new room she created in Wonka’s factory. Well done, Matilda!
Stacey K - 4A
Stacey is recognised for the incredible progress she has made in English literacy since joining Elsternwick Primary School this year. Since starting at our school, she has shown determination, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude towards challenges. Evie has had a fantastic term 3. Her attitude to all subjects has been outstanding and she has demonstrated her qualities in all areas of school. Evie has taken pride in her work, trying her best to do well and made outstanding progress in Mathematics. Well done Evie, this award is well deserved.
Lucy S - 1C
Lucy approaches our Maths lessons with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. Lucy always has a go and is keen to learn more about numbers and explore new Maths concepts. During our addition and subtraction unit, Lucy showed her thinking by using strategies such as doubles, near doubles and bridging to ten, and represented these on number lines to explain her reasoning. A wonderful effort, Lucy!
Dylan R - 2A
Dylan approaches each Maths lesson with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. She is always eager to challenge herself and demonstrates persistence and curiosity when exploring new concepts. Ava D - 4B
Ava has shown fantastic growth and dedication in her learning in Maths this Term. She has worked hard to improve the way she organises his workbook to record her thinking. She has made very impressive progress with her multiplication skills, especially with doubles of harder numbers and multiplying by tens. It has been tremendous to see her confidence and accuracy growing each week, and it’s been wonderful to see her take on new challenges with a positive attitude. For showing strong mathematical thinking by using efficient mental strategies, such as halving one factor and doubling the other to make the numbers easier to multiply. Alongside this, Ada has supported her peers during group work, sharing her strategies to help others succeed.

Meike P - Prep D
Meike is a kind and caring member of Prep D who is respectful to all of her peers and teachers. She enters the classroom each morning excited and ready to learn. Meike attempts all learning opportunities with enthusiasm and confidence, working hard and trying her best. Meike always helps a friend in need whether it be cleaning up a mess in the classroom or including everyone in her games. Well done Meike, we love having you in Prep D!

Oliver G - Prep A
Oliver has been curious about the world around him since the day Ms Steele met him! He has been full of wonder during this term's big questions ‘What is it made of and how does it move?’ Like a duck to water, he jumped into building boats, bridges, and flying paper planes with excitement and clever thinking.
His curious mind and creative ideas helped him build some amazing things, and he kept going even when things didn’t work the first time. Oliver’s love of exploring, testing, and trying again has led to some brilliant successes and fun discoveries.
Well done, Oliver — your curiosity makes you a fantastic learner and a delight to have as a member of Prep A.
Hugh G - 1A
In the classroom, Hugh consistently connects prior knowledge with new learning experiences, demonstrating strong cognitive engagement. He shows a keen awareness of his surroundings, often noticing subtle details and posing insightful questions that invite deeper exploration. Hugh communicates his ideas with confidence and seeks clarification when needed, reflecting his thoughtful and active approach to learning. Well done Hugh- stay curious!

A student who’s always wondering, exploring, and discovering something new. His willingness to explore new ideas was particularly evident in our big question lessons on “What’s it made of and why?” when he made his boat out of recyclables.

Archie S - 4C
This award is presented to Archie in recognition of his significant growth in his approach to learning this term. Archie now recognises the importance of asking thoughtful questions and pursuing knowledge with genuine interest. When choosing to research volcanoes for his Big Question project this term, he used two different sources of information to support him. Archie’s progress has been exemplary since the beginning of semester two. Congratulations on your award, and continue to let your curiosity guide your future endeavours.

For demonstrating genuine curiosity by taking his book club reading further, independently researching a tree mentioned for its healing powers. Alongside this, Connor has discovered a newfound joy in reading, even choosing to finish his book over playtime with friends.
