Celebrating Harmony Day: Our World in One School
What a beautiful reminder of who we are.
This year's Harmony Day was a joyful celebration of everything that makes our learning community so wonderfully rich. With more than 40 nationalities represented among our students and families — and at least one third of our community speaking English as an additional language — every single day at our school is a living example of harmony in action. But on this day, we paused together to celebrate that gift.
The day unfolded like a tapestry of colour, voice and culture. Our Harmony Day parade was a proud and vibrant procession, filled with the warmth and identity of so many traditions. Our worship and reflection time invited us to slow down and give thanks — for one another, and for the diverse threads that weave us together as one community.
Students sipped their way around the world with drinks from many different cultures, and our read-around brought to life stories from near and far, reminding us all that every culture has wisdom, wonder and beauty to share. Buddy activities deepened the friendships that cross age groups, languages and backgrounds, while Golden Time gave everyone the chance to simply enjoy being together.
None of this happens without dedicated, caring people behind it. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Saunders and our wonderful staff team for planning and bringing to life such a meaningful and memorable day. Your effort and love for this community shines through in everything you do.
We are grateful — not just for one day of harmony, but for the community we get to be, every day.
Please take note of the following important dates and events over the next few weeks:
Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Camp — Monday 30 March to Wednesday 1 April
Our Year 3–6 students have an exciting camp coming up! Year 3–4 and Year 5–6 will head off on Monday 30 March, returning Wednesday 1 April. Camp is always a highlight of the school year — a wonderful time for students to grow in confidence, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
Easter — Good Friday 3 April & Easter Sunday 5 April
Following camp, we move straight into Easter - a significant celebration in the Christian calendar. We warmly invite all families to join us for our Good Friday Service on 3 April and/or our Easter Sunday service on 5 April at Golden Grove Lutheran Church as we gather together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus . We hope to see you there!
Sports Day - Friday 11 September
Please mark your calendars! Sports Day will be held on Friday, 11 September. We are looking forward to a fun day with excellent weather. More details will be provided closer to the date.
Later in the term, we will also hold a Tabloid Sports afternoon for Years 3-6, which will serve as a selection trial for SACSA Athletics. Further information will be communicated soon.
Please continue to keep Mrs McCusker, our Sports Co-ordinator and PE Teacher in your prayers as she recovers from a back injury sustained before Christmas. We expect her to return in April and look forward to welcoming her back to the classroom.
Kiss & Drop Zone — A Friendly Reminder
Thank you to all our families for your efforts in making drop-off and pick-up as smooth as possible each day. We'd like to take a moment to remind our community of some of the logistics that are helpful for the smooth functioning of our kiss and drop zone.
The kiss and drop area is designed to keep traffic moving continuously, ensuring all students can arrive and depart safely and efficiently. To help this work for everyone, we ask that:
- Children are ready to exit the vehicle as you pull up, with bags packed and farewells said before reaching the zone.
- Drivers remain in their vehicle as much as possible - please avoid getting out to open doors, assist with bags, or watch children walk in as much as is practicable.
- Vehicles move forward promptly once children have alighted.
We completely understand that some of our younger students may require a little more hands-on assistance. In these cases, we warmly encourage families to use our car park, where you are welcome to take the time you need without impacting the flow of traffic.
Your cooperation makes a real difference to the safety and experience of every family in our community. Thank you for working with us on this!
LLL - Charitable Donations Program
We're thrilled to partner with LLL Australia to bring you a meaningful way to support our school through their Charitable Donation Program.
Your generosity in making a deposit with the LLL through a Charitable Facility Account which will assist us in upgrading our Foundation playground.
The funds you hold in your Facility will generate notional amounts of interest that is retained by LLL who will make a regular allocation to us to further our project, while your original investment remains completely untouched.
Our partnership with LLL Australia makes it simple and secure by:
- Opening a new LLL Charitable Facility.
- Nominating Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School as the preferred beneficiary of the interest your facility will forgo.
That's it! You can rest easy knowing your money is making a meaningful difference in our community—all with zero fees or charges to you.
If you would like to know more, please contact Tanya Rowland, our Business Manager.

Gratitude has been proven that it has a huge impact on mental health and wellbeing in many ways. This is not just being grateful for what others do for you but also showing gratitude towards your own thoughts and feelings.
At school we love the use of gratitude and encourage our students to be grateful for what happens and to show this in their words and actions.
The latest Anxiety Tips Library gives a brief explanation on the benefits of gratitude and what it does to the brain.
