Koala Classroom

Welcome to the Koala Class!
The Koala's have returned to school settled, focused and ready to learn. Enjoy a few wise words spoken in our room this week!
'We have our big learning brain on!' wise words from Toby.
'My brain is so big, I didn't know I could read that!' Malakai when blending his sounds.
'I am whisphering on the mat, but it is OK, I am just helping my friend with his learning.' Lucas, growing by helping others.
We are creating a 'Growth Mindset' Approach in our Classroom
A growth mindset is the belief that abilities can develop through effort, practice, and the right strategies. When students understand that learning is not fixed, they become more willing to take risks, persist through challenges, and view mistakes as part of the learning.
The concept was developed by psychologist Carol Dweck, whose research shows that students who believe their intelligence can grow are more likely to embrace challenge and remain motivated when learning becomes difficult.
In simple terms, students with a fixed mindset often think: “I’m just not good at this.”
Students with a growth mindset think: “I can improve with practice.”
