'Together Everyone Achieves More'

Mrs Chanae Johns

Principal

Welcome back to school TEAM.

The first week back of term 4 is done and dusted! For our seven year 6 students, it is their last first week, of term 4, at Cowwarr PS. This is always a term with mixed emotions for our year 6 cohort. They are sad to be leaving, ready to move on, excited for high school (or not), but nervous for what that next chapter will bring. As for the rest of the students, they are sad to say farewell to their peers but are also excited to moving through the school to become the new senior leaders or move onto their next year level. It's all part of growing up I guess. We just have to accept and embrace the next steps of life as best as we can.

As we think about our year 6 students, we are also thinking about our new foundation students who will be joining the team in 2025. We are always open to accepting new enrolments across the school and are excited to be welcoming (at this stage) 3 new foundation students to the school next year.

It is an exciting last term with many activities on the agenda. It was highlighted at our assembly this week that we work to create many exciting opportunities for our young people that are all planned with the purpose to enhance our experiences at school. From our swimming lessons, specialist classes, to our fun days, rewards, and end of year excursion, we work to make sure our young people don't miss out just because we are a small school. We are tremendously lucky that our school council members are supportive of what we try and do here at Cowwarr and approve us to do all of these amazing things.

Today (Friday) we celebrated a special anniversary. Today we celebrated Miss. Marg and her 25 years of service here at Cowwarr Primary School. This term marks the official start date for Miss. Marg and her, greatly appreciated, contributions to the Cowwarr Team for the last 25 years. Not everyone can say they have worked in the same job/position for 25 years. What a tremendous effort. Thank you Miss. Marg for everything that you do for the team!

One of our first big events of the term is our annual Gumboot-a-thon. In a few short weeks we will be walking to raise money for Helen Hoppner and her fundraising efforts for the Variety charity. We hope to see as many faces on the day to show their support or even to walk with students as we raise money and bring awareness to their fabulous cause. Together everyone achieves more and I have no doubt that we can come together, yet again, as the fabulous team we are to help Mrs. Hoppner reach her goal.

As always, we are jammed back with a busy term. There is so much to look forward to.

A reminder that we always have a doors open for you to help, visit, or speak with your teacher about you child/ren. Hope that you have had a great week.
