What's happening in Term 3 - Week 10
Following their presentations during last week's assembly here are our top 5 readers receiving their special prizes!
We will be setting up display cases in the Library from 10th October. The Fair will be open to the school community from 14th-18th and again on 21st October during the following times:
8:45-9:00am
3:30-3:45pm
Students will be invited to browse and complete wish lists to bring home during their library sessions. Online purchasing of books will again be available if you are unable to attend the book fair.
Further details to be announced in Term 4.
Introducing award winning children’s author, presenter, editor and reviewer Coral Vass!
Coral is visiting our school to talk to all of our students about reading and writing. This is a fantastic and engaging opportunity to learn even more about the practices of professional authors and how they write the interesting and engaging stories we love!
We have been fortunate to purchase several of Coral’s most recent books to add to the collection already on the library shelves. Look out for an informative library window display at the start of Term 4 where you can learn lots more interesting information about Coral before her visit!
Students now have the opportunity to pre-purchase Coral’s books and have them signed on the day of her visit. This must, however be done BY 30th SEPTEMBER.
To order go to: www.lamontauthors.com.au and select “Buy our Author’s Books”.
As this is my last library newsletter I would just like to thank EVERYONE who has supported me during my time working in this wonderful library space. To all the staff and especially the students who attend enthusiastically each week demonstrating their pure enjoyment of books – it has been an absolute pleasure! To the library captains for your help and advocacy each week, enjoy your final term of primary school and have a fabulous graduation! To the office staff for supporting the newsletter, budget and event organisation! To Mrs Corrales your friendship and support is amazing and appreciated always! And of course to Archie and Ms Davies for all the wags and woofs!
Keep on reading Karoo!
With love Mrs Hagan
