Chess

It has been a while since The Public School and All Saints have competed in a chess competition. It was very kind of the Public School to invite us. This is the first time that we have participated in an individual tournament rather than a team event. It was gratifying to have so many of our students eager to play. We sent a team of 22 players which is a significant proportion of our students. Not only did we send a large number of students they were also highly competitive. Charles and Orlando battled for supremacy, having won all their five matches until the final round. Charles managed to get the win to finish as the champion of the day. Orlando and a Public School student finished equal second, with Paxton close behind in 4th position.

Thank you to the Public School for inviting us and for all of the parents who have been practising chess regularly with their children. It is a great game and wonderful to see the children enjoying its challenges.
