Fighting Extinction Team

Last week Colleen from Beach Patrol 3280 asked for help.

She had collected a load of sand/seaweed from a local beach and it was completely littered with plastic debris, including lots of nurdles, and she needed help sifting the sand out, then going through it slowly and collecting all the plastic. (Nurdles are small and we need to look carefully!

We have been working on it for a few days.

Our Fighting Extinction team, the current Deakin Science class (4S) and a few extra year 3 helpers have done a great job so far.

Once it’s all collected we need to count it and add the data onto the National database.

We will share the final tally when we are done!
