Learning Success

Secondary Studies Faculty - Learning and Support

The Secondary Studies Faculty has supported a number of students successfully complete assessment tasks and exams through the provision of Disability Provisions. Congratulations to Year 10 on recently completing their Yearly Examinations, getting a taster of the formal examination environment to help prep them for Senior Study. Our Year 11’s are currently completing their Preliminary HSC studies. We wish them all the best!

Our Year 7 and 8 Numeracy classes delved into mathematics for the Olympics, applying their numeracy skills to work through a range of statistics and probability problems inspired by the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Our Year 7 and 8 Literacy classes have been revising literary devices and writing structures such as PEEL Paragraphs, the ALARM scaffold, as well as creating great narrative starters and building tension to improve their writing across a range of subjects and engage readers. Moving forward, term 4 will see students creating their own narrative writing piece, building throughout the term to edit and publish their work.

Don’t forget, TASC moved days throughout the term and is now on Thursdays from 2-3pm. This change gives more students the opportunity to access this great program. TASC is staffed each week by teachers from every faculty to support students with current assessment tasks or class activities. It’s a great opportunity for students to bring in their assessment drafts and get some feedback before submission, catch up on outstanding work, clear N warnings, or undertake independent study revision.
