Rotation 2 of Technology Mandatory has just wrapped up and students have completed a reusable shopping bag as their project. We had some super Design Folio submissions, and we hope students enjoyed getting to trial different types of fabric decoration techniques. Here are some of the bags created.
Year 9 Food Technology completed their second Assessment task for the year for the unit Food for Special Occasions. They had to choose a celebration (social, historical or religious) and produce a dessert linked to that celebration, as well as submit a report.
They have done Ms Kumar, Miss Russell and Mrs Palmer proud!
Year 9 Child Studies were tasked with designing and creating a toy for a child aged between 0-5. The toy had to be safe for the chosen age group and have an educational or developmental element. Mrs Palmer is proud to share photos of some of the toys below.
Year 11 Hospitality preparing and presenting avocado and poached egg on toasted sourdough.
Year 12 Hospitality completing their last practical assessments and service periods this term. Preparing and serving menu items to industry standards.
Our Year 12 Timber Class Of 2024 have had a super year! Successfully completing and producing their major projects and portfolio's. This all began in term 4 last year when the class were asked to develop a project proposal which was presented to a panel that included the Principal, Head Teacher and class teacher. Each student individually presented their plans to the panel and fellow class mates, recommendations were given by the panel at the conclusion of each presentation.
From here the work began, sourcing timber was the first major hurdle that most student's faced as well as the higher than normal costs. This was a very tight knit cohort who worked collaboratively to help each other out.
Countless hours including (holiday workshops) were spent working on these projects outside of normal timetabled lessons which was a testament to their outstanding work ethic.
The class should be extremely proud of the impressive projects that were produced. Our focus now is to revise and practice for the HSC examination. This class has been an absolute pleasure to work with and I wish them all the very best for the HSC and beyond. Mr O'Brien
Year 12 TAS teachers would like to wish the Class of 2024 all the best with their upcoming HSC exams and beyond.
