Junior School

On Monday 16 September, the junior school had an excursion to Healesville Sanctuary. This was to compliment our Inquiry investigation into living things; animals, their features and habitats. The weather remained favourable and we managed to get through all planned activities.

We had a guided workshop on animal features, life cycles and habitats. Then we enjoyed a live show titled 'Spirits of the Sky' - discussing natural behaviours of a variety of native birds, including the Wedge-tailed Eagle, Black-breasted Buzzard, Barking Owl, Cockatoos and other Parrots.

The classes then went on a tour around the sanctuary and saw a huge range of Australian animals, including kangaroos, emus, koalas, wombats, Tasmanian Devils, goannas, platypus, echidnas, dingoes and a range of reptiles.

We would like to thank all parents who came to help out on the day, we hope you had as much fun as we all did!
