Book Review By Tyson S

Tyson recommends Ten Tremendous Tales by Liz Pichon. The Picture and Comedy book is set in an Oakfield town with the main characters Amy, Marcus and Tom Gates. The town is organising a parade that everyone gets to join in. Tyson recommends this book from Grade 2+ and rates it 5/5 stars!

Around the classroom

In Science this term, the F/1/2 students have been learning about wool. They have learned that wool grows on sheep, and what sheep require to grow healthy. They have studied some of the properties of wool, discovering that it is naturally stain and flame resistant. It also keeps the wearer cooler in summer and warmer in winter. The class has also looked at different uses of wool, including cloths, baseballs and billiard felt. Last week, the students had the opportunity to use wool in an arts and crafts activity to make “yarn monsters”.
