Junior School

Spring has sprung and is the time of plans and projects.  As we look ahead to Term 4, this break provides the chance to pause, reset and prepare for the busy and rewarding weeks to come.

There are many highlights on the horizon for our community, including our traditional Up Day, the Years 3–5 Awards Assembly, the Graduation Assembly for our Year 5 leavers, and our end-of-year Celebration Assembly. These events give us the opportunity to celebrate the growth of our students and the way they continue to live out our HARK values of Humility, Aspiration, Respect and Kindness.

Just as Spring brings renewal and energy, Term 4 offers us the chance to finish the year with focus, celebration, and a strong sense of community.

Student-Led Conferences

Over two successful evenings, our students proudly took centre stage in leading their own learning conversations during our Student-Led Conferences. Each child carefully selected work samples to share, explaining why they had chosen each piece, what skills they were demonstrating, and how these reflected their progress. They then thoughtfully identified new goals to guide their continued growth as learners.

The conferences highlighted the importance of student agency, with children taking ownership of their achievements and using critical thinking skills to articulate their learning journey. In doing so, they demonstrated confidence, reflection, and the ability to make connections between effort, learning, and outcomes.

The lead up to this special event was filled with excitement and pride, as students prepared to showcase their learning. It was inspiring to see them eagerly take responsibility for sharing their stories of growth. We are grateful to our families for joining us and for supporting their children as they guided them through their conference. These evenings were a celebration not only of learning but also of the partnerships that strengthen our school community.
