Innovation in Action: Students Assembling Tomorrow’s Technology

From Classroom to Creation – The Power of 3D Printing is now in the hands of Oakleigh Grammar students, thanks to the arrival of our new Original Prusa XL 5-Head 3D Printer.

Representing the latest in 3D printing innovation, this machine allows for multi-material and multi-colour printing, enabling students to explore cutting-edge design and manufacturing processes. Thanks to the dedication and leadership of Jayden H, Megan S, and Athanasios P, who volunteered their spare time to assemble the printer, it will be ready for classroom use in Term 4.

The Prusa XL gives our students hands-on experience with tools shaping industries such as engineering, medicine, architecture, and product design. Driven by robust software and detailed documentation, it minimises user complexity, allowing students to focus on learning and innovation rather than troubleshooting. This initiative highlights our commitment to fostering creativity and equipping students with relevant, practical skills for their future.
