Foundation
What a busy term we have had!
We began the term by celebrating 100 days of Foundation. Learners had so much fun dressing up as if they were 100 years old or creating costumes based on the number 100. We joined in lots of “100-themed” activities, making necklaces with 100 beads and crowns to mark this exciting milestone.
For Inquiry, we became Wildlife Warriors with an excursion to the Kyabram Fauna Park. We explored the park and learned all about animals—their features, how to classify them, and their habitats.
We then showcased our sporting talents on Athletics Day. It was a wonderful day filled with fun and fantastic sportsmanship. Thank you to all our families who came along to cheer on our little sports stars—it truly made the day extra special.
Well done to St Anne’s, finishing in 1st place in the St Mary’s Athletics Carnival and a big congratulations to our Age Group Champions; Eva E & Connor R (12/13yo), Millie R & Joel N (11yo) and Bowie E, Leo M, Ryder K & Frank P (9/10yo). Year 3-6 learners then participated in the Echuca Athletics Carnival. All athletes gave their best through some testing weather conditions over two days which culminated in St Mary’s winning the 9/10yo and 11/12yo Relay Champions for the second consecutive year.
Next, we celebrated Book Week with our sensational costumes and a shared love of reading. The creativity in the costumes was amazing, with so much thought, time, and preparation evident in each one.
Finally, we celebrated our Foundation Mass last week. Our learners spoke beautifully and showed great reverence during this special time. We were fortunate to have Fr Novie join us for the Mass, and he even played a game of ‘Jesus Says’ with us, which brought lots of joy to the celebration.
Year 4
Year 4 students have been busy preparing for their upcoming Science Fair showcase! Over the past few weeks, they have been learning about the states of matter and exploring how materials can change from one state to another. Through hands-on investigations and simple experiments, students have been able to see these changes in action and build their understanding of scientific concepts.
We are looking forward to sharing these exciting experiments with you during Week 9 at our Learning Expo. Stay tuned—it’s sure to be a fantastic display of curiosity, creativity, and science in action!
